Mingey Mouse

Brandon LOVES Mickey Mouse. That's an understatement. When the Micky Mouse Clubhouse cartoon is over, he is devastated!!! Crying, tantrums, etc. ensue. Poor kid. So, guess who he is for Halloween this year...? His daycare is having their Halloween party today, so we got him all dressed up this morning. He screamed the whole time I was getting him dressed (he'd rather run naked). Then Joe put him up in front of the mirror and all of a sudden he was delighted! It was awesome. I wish I had caught the initial reaction. I think he is quite happy to have become the beloved Mickey Mouse.

Here's a picture of the outfit, minus the wiggly worm who won't stand still for a picture...

I did make this all on my own. I had the basic black turtleneck and black sweat pants. I cut some old jammie bottoms for the red shorts and made buttons for the front. I cut out a tail and stuffed it and then sewed it to the shorts. (You should have seen him spinning in circles like a dog chasing his tail when he discovered it! Ha ha!) Then I made ears and attached them to a black beanie. I made the gloves and stuffed them and then sewed them to the sleeves so they would pretty much lay on top of his hands. I was quite proud of myself. Grin. I will try to get some still pictures of him in the outfit later. Grandma and Grandpa Rhees are arriving tonight, so I'm hoping maybe they will be able to help contain him a little. Ha ha!

Happy Halloween, everyone!

Happy

Brandon has this dang cute little dance he does when he's happy. I love it! So, when he does this fun little dance, Joe and I will sing "happy dance, happy dance." Because of this, Brandon learned the word 'happy'. Sometimes he'll play with one of his toys that make music and when the music starts, he'll dance side to side and say "happy!" It's so fun.

The other day I was upstairs getting ready for work, and all of a sudden, I hear Brandon down stairs just wandering around saying, "happy". It made me hope that he is happy. That he was saying it because all is well and he is content. I hope he knows how loved he is and how happy he makes Joe and me. He is our joy!

Sweet Boys

Yesterday, I was washing some grapes at the kitchen sink. All of a sudden my sweet little boy ran across two rooms, smooching the whole way, until he got to me with lips puckered wanting to give me kisses. Then as soon as I gave him his kisses, he ran back to his toys and commenced playing. This is the first time he'd ever done that. It was so dang cute! I just melted. I love my baby!

And a shout out to my wonderful hubby! We've been married for 5 years today. What a wonderful 5 years it's been! I'm so grateful for Joe and for who he is. I look forward to many more years with him!
