Every Day Fridays

I'm pretty sure there are five Fridays in a week. Here is a sample of one of my internal conversations I had this week:

My Heart: Yay! It's Friday!
My Brain: Not it's not. It's Wednesday.
My Heart: Are you sure? I'm pretty sure it's Friday.
My Brain: Well, it's not.
My Heart: It sure feels like Friday. I feel excitement!
Brain: Look at the calendar. See! It's Wednesday.
Heart: What's the date today?
Brain: Look at the date on the phone (at work).
Heart: OK, so it says that it's the 5th. Did I forget to change my calendar to August? No, the 5th in July was a Sunday. Hmmm. It has to be Friday. I can't wait until I get to go home to my hubby and baby!
Brain: Well, you can be excited to go home to your family tonight, but then you have to wake up early and do a work day all over again tomorrow.
Heart: Are you really sure?
Brain: Yes!

(The next morning...)
Ugh, brain was right. Yesterday was only Wednesday.

(Later Thursday...)
Heart: Yay! It's Friday!
Brain: Sigh. Here we go again.

It's too bad I only get one Saturday and Sunday for every five Fridays.

He's all grown up already!

Well, I'm a little delayed in getting this done, but, well, you know...

We have a sweet, handsome, perfect little boy. We named him Brandon Joseph. He was born on Friday, April 3, 2009, at 12:58 p.m. He weighed... no not 9 lbs 2 oz., thank goodness, but 8 lbs 13 oz, and was 21 1/2 inches long. Everything went really well. My water broke Thursday night at 11:00 p.m. and I only had to push for 40 minutes when he finally decided to come.

Here is our newborn.

Brandon had some jaundice at first, but was over it after a few days. We were able to take home a bili bed for him. It was so nice to not have to go home without him.

Here's our darling little alien baby in his bili bed.

And Joe is the most wonderful and cute daddy. It's so fun to watch him with Brandon. He's so fun to listen to as he explains life to him, and gives him tours of the house and explains everything to him. He's so wonderful to take him when I need, change diapers, burp him, rock him to sleep, hold him when he's screaming his head off, etc. :o)

Here are my two handsome men.

Brandon has been so fun to watch grow. I think he changes every day. Just over the last couple of days he has been so alert. It's so great to have him be awake and not be crying or eating. Ha ha. Our poor baby has reflux and is uncomfortable a lot of the time. So, it's so nice to see him in a happy state. :o)

Here he is at about 4 weeks old.

We are so delighted to have this sweet baby boy in our family!

We love you!
