With our crazy schedule, we don't get home until 7:00 p.m. on weekdays, then we have to fix/eat dinner before we get Brandon ready for bed and hopefully have him in bed by 8:30 p.m. Silly us.
Dinners are hard for us. We don't want it taking all night long to fix something. I have all sorts of ideas of cooking like crazy during the weekends and then eating it during the week. But the weekends are the only time I have to clean house and spend time with my boys. Who wants to sit and cook a week's worth of meals when I could be playing with my sweet boy? For me, I'm having a hard enough time remembering to take something out of the freezer so we have something at least thawed out so we can cook something as soon as we get home. We end up eating hodge-podge whatever we can find that's quick and easy, or we do the fast food thing. Sigh. We want to be better! We want to be healthy!
So, I bought a binder and some sheet protectors a few weeks ago thinking I would make up a month's worth of menus and then put all of the recipes in the book so all we had to do was turn to it and know: This is what we're having for dinner. Take "this" out of the freezer the night before. Unfortunately, I haven't taken the time to sit down and figure the menu and then attach the recipe or a grocery shopping list to it.
Here is something I learned today. It's a great website! Not absolutely perfect, but so easy and encouraging. Even if you are just looking for some recipe ideas or a little bit of organization, this is wonderful!
The website is: www.thefoodnanny.org
I can easily print my menu, my grocery list, and even the recipes! I can even add my own recipes if I want!
I am so doing this.

I posted to you on facebook. She came out because she is friends with someone in our ward. They did a whole food nanny presentation. It was great. The Food Nanny was great. I have been doing this for a month and a half now. I don't always stick to her exact plans as we have some nights that are just to busy to go with a theme. It does force me to really sit and plan though. Her recipes are fun too. Enjoy. I hope it works for you.
Good luck! It will be so great for you. It's hard for us, too, but I love our family dinners!
